Variety reports that Ellen Page ("Juno") will star in a new adaptation of Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre." Moira Buffini adapted the classic book but no director has been setup with the project yet. BBC Films will produce the project.

"Jane Eyre" tells the story of an orphan who becomes an governess and falls for her master, Mr. Rochester, but later finds that he hides a dark secret.

Production is expected to begin in the fall.
