In an announcement about the new deal between Showtime Networks and The Weinstein Co., the press release states that the Showtime cable channel has secured a seven-year deal with the Weinstein Company for broadcast rights for up to 95 films, including films in the Dimension Films series. One of the forthcoming films mentioned in the press release was: "Scream 4"?

It's been rumored by everyone - including Wes Craven himself - that a "Scream 4" was a possibility and the release hints that "Scream 4" would look to revive the franchise. When Cinema Confidential interviewed David Arquette last year, he expressed interest in returning to the franchise as well as Jamie Kennedy (if they can find a way to bring him back).

So what's next in the story? Will it be a brand new storyline or will new characters be involved? I guess only time will tell...
