The Hollywood Reporter reports that Tom Cruise is eyeing a comedy titled "Food Fight," a story that tells of a snobby New York City chef who is relegated to working in a school cafeteria. The project is being setup at Universal Pictures. Steven Brill ("Drillbit Taylor") was in talks to direct the project but those talks have since ended. The eventual project will be based on a script by Adam Brooks ("Definitely, Maybe").

Such a film would be one of the few comedies Cruise has starred in since 1996's "Jerry Maguire." He appears in this week's release of "Tropic Thunder" as a bald-headed studio executive.
