The Hollywood Reporter reports that two writers, Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander, have been tapped to write the "Goosebumps" movie, a project which Sony/Columbia Pictures hopes to use to launch a new film franchise.

"Goosebumps" is a series of scary books for young adults that are written by R.L. Stine and are released by Scholastic which have sold millions of copies worldwide.

The film is being produced by Neal Moritz and Moritz have said that he hopes to cast young unknown actors in the leads and will cast known actors in supporting roles, similar to that of the Harry Potter franchise.
