Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter report that Stiles White and Juliet Snowden have been tapped for MGM's remake of the 1982 classic horror film, "Poltergeist." The original was directed by Tobe Hooper and written by Michael Grais and Mark Victor, based on a story idea by Steven Spielberg.

"Poltergeist" told of a suburban family home that becomes terrorized by invading ghosts. The youngest daughter eventually gets kidnapped and taken into what seemingly is another world.

White and Snowden have also penned the remake of Universal's "The Birds," currently in pre-production.
