Universal is reportedly hoping to put out a third "Nutty Professor" film with Eddie Murphy back in the leading role. A call has been put out to writers but no deals have been made, including one with Murphy.

The first two films told of a gentile and lovable overweight professor that develops a formula that turns him into a egotistical, uncontrollable skinnier man named Buddy Love.
