
Variety reports that Dreamworks Animation will focus on releasing originals and sequels in the next couple of years. As part of a presentation for company investors, CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg unveiled the following upcoming projects:
- "Shrek Forever After" will be the title of the fourth "Shrek" film. Mike Mitchell is directing the project which will be released next year. Teresa Cheng and Gina Shay are producing the project. Aron Warner and Andrew Adamson are exec producing.
- "How to Train Your Dragon" is another project in the works for 2010 which will be written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois and produced by Bonnie Arnold. Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill will be voicing characters. Set in the world of Vikings and dragons, it centers on "an awkward teen who befriends an injured dragon."
- "Oobermind" was announced today for 2010 as well, with the news that Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey lending their voice. Downey will voice a supervillain who finds life a little dull after vanquishing good-guy rival Metro Man. Film will open November 5, 2010.
- "Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom" is being set for June 3, 2011 with Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman lending voices. Jennifer Yuh will be making her feature film debut.
- On Nov. 4, 2011 "The Guardians" will be released which will be based on a children's book series that hasn't been published yet.
