Given that "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" is available exclusively on the Sony Playstation 3 system, it's not surprising that Sony's Columbia Pictures branch is looking to bring the game to the big screen.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Avi Arad, Charles Roven, Ari Arad and Alex Gartner will produce the project for the studio with Kyle Ward set to pen the screenplay.
In the game, you play the role of Nathan Drake, a descendent of explorer Sir Francis Drake. Nathan believes he's found the location of El Dorado, the legendary city of gold, in South America and sets off on a mission to retrieve a golden statue. Along the way, he fights rival hunters and even creatures trying to stop him from reaching his goal.
Ward has already penned a script for Lionsgate based on the game "Kane & Lynch" and will also write the script for "Hitman 2."
