Josh Duhamel will star opposite Katherine Heigl in the romance "Life as We Know It" for Warner Bros. Greg Berlanti will direct the picture.

Variety reports that the film tells of two unattached adults who find love when their mutual best friends die in a car accident and are named in the will as caretakers for their orphaned daughter.

Heigl is co-exec producing the film along with her mother.
